Why DuChâteau?

DuChâteau hardwood flooring combines old world craftsmanship and luxurious modern design. Our flooring reflects passion, art in design, and an appreciation for nature. Designed to reflect styles found in Europe from centuries ago, our wood floors are antique-styled, hard-wax oil floors. With natural changing grain patterns and hand-crafted textures, our flooring creates a look that showcases the character and longevity of a true vintage hardwood floor.

We make use of environmentally friendly methods and renewable forest resources to offer products that are consistently of the highest quality. Our floors are finished  with hard-wax oil. This oil is an all-natural, non-pollutant, non-toxic finish that is VOC-free without the use of biocides, preservatives and benzene. Made from purified, renewable natural resources, like vegetable oil and natural waxes, this finish has the most environmentally friendly benefits and contributes to a healthy living environment. Our floors are CARB-2 compliant – made with a formaldehyde-free adhesive – they qualify for the following LEED® credits: EQ 4.4 – Low Emitting Materials.

DuChâteau introduced the wide plank, European visual to the U.S. market in 2007, and quickly rose to the top with its unparalleled visuals and state-of-the-art technology. Over the years we have remained at the forefront of the design industry because of our artistic methods, and evolving collections and colors. By the end of 2018, we will have 6 new colors launching. At the start of 2019, we are introducing two new collections, including a STOCKED chevron/herringbone pattern.

****Main talking points:

-Engineered Hardwood:

When properly installed, our engineered hardwood floors offer the same look and feel of a solid wood floor, but with several added benefits: quality construction, stability at wide widths and lengths, no warping, cupping, or bowing compared to solid wood flooring. Solid wood floors, on the other hand, do not allow for the wood to breathe and contract in areas where humidity is high or low. Therefore, when the wood expands, it has nowhere to go. It actually makes more sense for hardwood flooring to be engineered when a design space is not perfectly climate controlled year-round, which is few and far between.

-Hard-wax oil finish:

The oil penetrates deeply into the wood to enhance the look of the natural grain while the wax remains on the surface to create a protective layer that helps the floors stand up to daily use and abuse. Unlike the run-of-the-mill polyurethanes and UV oils used on many wood floors today, our hard-wax oil creates a floor that is easily repairable—even for quick spot fixes—so there’s no need to do a major re-sanding and refinishing job if just one area of your floor gets damaged. Another bonus: the hard-wax oil is extremely water repellent and does not water-mark. That means our floors are an excellent choice for homes where life happens (kids, pets, etc.) and commercial spaces that see a lot of foot traffic. IT ALLOWS THE WOOD TO BE WOOD.

Most manufacturers offer random lengths in a carton. We, however, only offer full sized planks (74-13/16” long) in each box, with the exception of one plank that’s cut in two (starter boards). That means you’re getting the higher quality material versus “scraps”. Not only from an installation standpoint is this a huge benefit, but aesthetically as well.

-Local Company:

We were born and raised here in San Diego, and our warehouse is in Otay Mesa so turn around time for material is 1-2 days. As you know, we are always open to bringing clients to our showroom to truly give them a personal experience from start to finish. They’re not just buying a floor, they’re buying a luxury lifestyle brand.
